The email read: Sent: Thursday, September 20, 2007 10:42 AM To: david@mercyroadministries.com Subject: Thank You Good Afternoon Mr. Mitchell, I personally wanted to thank you for the CD I just received from your group "Mercy Road - The Journey Continues". When i received it a week ago I thought "I will wait until [husband] gets home and play it for him and we will listening to it together as a family ~ God had another plan in store for me. The Lord kept bugging me to open it and play it NOW and then I could play it again when [husband] got home. That is what I did and boy, did I receive a blessing from heaven ! The Lord spoke to me and got my attention on a couple of issues I am going through that [husband] is not aware of that is affecting me daily but the lord sees and hears all so there is no way to hide things from him. I can't thank you enough for coming into our lives in the way you have through my husband,[name] and for doing the work the Lord has given you the talent to do. I don't know a lot about the bible(like I should) but I do know a good thing when I see it and I commend you for obeying the lord. I am shy but the lord is working on me to help me overcome it so I can sing in public like i do in the car and at home when no one else is around except me and the lord. I think the lord likes it because I feel warm and tingly like I am getting a hug from my heavenly father. Continue doing the lord's work and I wish you and your ministry ALL THE BEST the lord has to offer. May the Lord continue to bless you in the same way you bless others. Sincerely, [Name Removed] 4/13/2007 ******NEWS FLASH**** MERCY ROAD HOMECOMING SPECIAL GUEST  As you know if you were at last years concert, we announced that Brian Free and Assurance would be at "HOMECOMING 2007". Our other special guest for the evening will be "The Mike LeFevre Quartet". This is going to be a great night....Start making plans now.. 12/8/2006 Mercy Road in the studio for their new project!  Finally, we are so excited to be at work in the studio on our new project! We think it will be the best one yet! If all goes well, we hope to have it available at the end of January. Check out the new "action" photos from the recording studio. P.S. I'm there too, but I'm shooting the pictures! Terry 10/22/2006 What's that noise?  Saturday, Oct. 21, started out like any other normal Saturday. We met the bus and pulled out about 2:00 in the afternoon headed to the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Buford Georgia for a 7:00 PM concert. As we were driving up Ga. 400, Debbie (who is deaf in one ear!) said she thought she heard a funny noise in the rear of the bus. Shortly after that, we all noticed how rough the road seemed to be. All of the sudden other vehicles passing us were blowing their horns and pointing toward the back of the bus. We looked at each other and said, “dat not good…” As we were pulling over on the median, David noticed we were slinging chunks of rubber everywhere behind us. Sure ‘nuff, we had an inside tire on the left rear blow out the sidewall. Oh yea…we had just removed the spare from the bus a few weeks before, but that’s another story. We stopped at a Goodyear tire repair shop who just shook their heads when we came in and offered us the Yellow Pages. So we limped in to a grocery store parking lot at Northridge and Roswell Rd. and started calling every mobile tire repair shop around. Keep in mind you can’t just jack a bus up like a car and change the tire, it takes specialized equipment. Our greatest concern was to get to our appointment any way we could. The last thing we wanted to do was have to cancel. The tire places we called either didn’t answer (Saturday!), couldn’t handle a bus repair, didn’t have the tire size in stock, or implied it would be a couple of hours at least before they could get to us. While David was on the phone with one company Terry was on the phone with another. Terry's company he was talking to, was located in Lithia Springs, over an hour from where we were. Terry explained to him we were a Gospel group broke down in Roswell and had a 7:00 singing in Buford. The guy said, “no problem” he’d go to his shop, pick up a tire, and head our way. We hung up without getting his name, cell number, or anything else. We just prayed he’d get to us, replace the tire, and allow us to somehow make our date. Less than one hour later, Walt’s repair truck flew into the parking lot and screeched to a stop behind the bus, three guys jumped out with a vengence, and before we could get off the bus and walk to the rear to meet them, they had already started jacking it up! These guys were on a mission to get us back on the road as soon as possible. 12 minutes later (did you get that…12 MINUTES LATER), they had lifted the bus, pulled the outer tire, removed the inner blowout, removed it from the rim, mounted the new tire on the rim, replaced it on the axel, aired it up, replaced the outer tire, and lowered the bus from the pneumatic jack, loaded their equipment, and wrote our invoice! These guys were awesome and $175.00 less than the other companies we called! Praise God! He’ll not only guide your footsteps but also your fingers! We made it to the church an hour before the service started so we still had plenty of time to get set up. If you need a mobile tire repair around Lithia Springs (or Atlanta!), Mercy Road highly recommends Walt’s Mobile Tire Service, (770) 480-7986!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9/27/2006 Dennis Southern Killed in car crash  Mercy Road has learned that our long time friend, Dennis Southern, was killed in the crash on I-85 on Monday afternoon around 3:00pm. He was a great friend to all of us. He began playing bass guitar for me in the early 80's and then in late 80's, Arlene sang with Dennis and his sister Sandra, in a group called "Sacred Heart". He will truly be missed by all of the members of Mercy Road. Please remember Dennis's family in prayer as they deal with this great loss. David 9/12/2006 Mercy Road and Gerald Crabb perform at one of the showcases at the NQC in Louisville KY  Mercy Road had the opportunity to sing a few songs at a showcase where Gerald Crabb (shown above) was the emcee. The other groups were great and Gerald sang a couple of his famous songs that he wrote. The entire room was shouting as he sang "Through the Fire". Gerald introduced each of the groups before they took the stage...except Mercy Road. Unfortunately just before it was our turn to go on, nature called out Gerald's name and he had to slip out momentarily. As we were introduced to the stage by someone else David told the crowd in a disappointed tone that he'd waited all his life to be introduced by Gerald Crabb and this just had to happen to us! Then David added that Gerald could make up for it by writing us a number one song! We'll see. Oh well, We had a great time anyway! 8/15/2006 Mercy Road Sings At Mustang Car Show  On, Sunday 8/13/06, Mercy Road was invited to sing at John Bleakley's annual Mustang Show. This was our second year to be invited to sing at this event. The turnout was HUGH! What better crowd could we have had to sing about our Lord, Jesus Christ? The response was mixed, of course. There were folks glad to hear southern gospel music at an event such as this, and others who just walked by and smiled. All in all, I think we were accepted well and hopefully a seed was planted in some heart. Keep checking back on the website for reports of other opportunities for Mercy Road to witness in song! 7/17/2006 Mercy Road begins recording Vocals for new CD  WEll.... after all the questions and phone calls over the last few months, we have began recording the vocals for the new project that we hope to have ready in the fall. We spent last friday night at BCS Studio in Woodland, AL with our great friend, Mike Bailey, laying the vocals on the first two songs for the CD. Man, did we have fun... This is two of the best songs we have ever done and we are excited about getting this project out to you. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to work on this new CD. We will let everyone know when it is ready for release. 6/24/2006 "Poppy" Neal Sexton Goes Home To Be With The Lord  Mercy Road learned that approximately at 9:45 this morning, Saturday, June 24, 2006, Charlie's dad, "Poppy" Neal went home to be with the Lord. He had long suffered with Diabetes and Kidney failure. Funeral services were held Monday, June 26th in Austell, GA. 1/7/2006 Mercy Road's New Ride  Back in the summer, David decided that he wanted to buy a bus, so he found one on ebay that he really liked. He bid on it, and was outbid by the end of the auction. Dissapointed, he called the seller to say that if the purchaser didn't follow through, that he'd like another opportunity to buy it. The seller made no promises, but to our surprise, a few weeks later it was back on ebay. This time, David was able to win it, and by the end of the week had flown to Houston, Texas, to bring it back to Georgia. He is like a little kid at Christmas with his new 'toy'. David has done a lot of work to make it ready for the road. We are so thankful to have such a nice mode of transportation. We've gotten tons of compliments about the unique paint job. It’s a beautiful golden champagne and purple plum color with lots of contrasting swirls down the side. Our website address is in gold across the back, and our new Mercy Road logo is on either side behind the driver's window and beside the entrance door. Pretty sharp, if I do say so myself. From all that the authorities in Texas told David, the bus had been used to smuggle drugs back and forth between Mexico and the USA. I'm reminded of the scripture that basically says that what the Enemy meant for evil, God meant for good! We thank Him (and David) for this very special blessing.
